Kids love this kit - This is the kit we use in our workshops!
Tools needed: small power drill, Phillips-head driver bit, #8 Pre-drill (countersink) bit and a Phillips-head screwdriver
We recommend the tool we use in our Workshops: the DeWALT Flip Drive (DW2701). This tool is available as an add-on item in our store.
Additional tools you may find helpful: clamps or masking tape
Supplies needed: paintable latex caulk, paper towels and water-based paint for exterior finish
We use high quality building materials: exterior grade ACX plywood. All interior surfaces have cut grooves giving bats a permanent gripping surface that will never come loose and entangle or injure the bats. Kit comes with instructions, screws, nails and a cut-out bat to decorate the front of the house.
The manual covers choosing a paint color, as well as, where and how to install your bat house for the best chances of success.

Specifications:
Dimensions: H 28" x W 18" x D 2"
Weight: 8 lbs.
Bat Capacity*: about 50 to 100 (depending on the species)
Cubic Inches of Roosting Space: 220
*We attempt to be honest with our estimates allowing approx. 3 cubic inches for each bat. This includes an allowance for unused space since the bats will not pack the house top to bottom. Some species will crowd in very tightly, others will not. Here's the math: "Cubic Inches of Roosting space / 3 Cubic Inches = estimate of capacity".
Why does it cost so much to ship?
Our bat houses are full size and certifiable. They are not toys or small bird house style kits - this kit ships in a 29x17x3 box and ships at 10 lbs.

I loved the included instructions and the screws, especially the fact that the special torx bit was even provided! I recommend dry fitting the pieces together before you actually screw and caulk everything, just like the instructions state. You can definitely tell this was prepared by someone who truly cares about quality.

Well designed product that is easy to put together. Use a little care, it is not hardwood. Just needs your caulking, paint and location. Anxious to see it being used.

I have an open field with cattle with water nearby and the bat house fits perfectly in my scheme. I'll let you know how many bats end up living there after awhile.

The Single Chamber Bat House fit together very easily, just like your video shows. The bottom screws on each side split the plywood even after pre-drilling holes. With all the other screws and caulking used, the bat house is still very strong and secure. I also drilled another hole at the bottom of the chamber to secure the bottom to the tree.

The kit is very well made. Everything fits like shown in the video with the fit and finish as expected. Be very conservative with the countersink bit as some screws didn't tighten as well as I would have liked. Limit the bit to about half the length of the screw. Light sanding, caulking and good quality paint and the finished house looks great!
