Three Chamber Bat House Kit - BCI Certified

Are you a Do-It-Yourself kind of person but just don't know what makes a good bat house?

Then this kit is for you !  Perfect kit for adults and kids who like to build things.

This bat house kit is designed to meet all 10 of Bat Conservation International (BCI) certification requirements, once built and painted.  Its unique tab and slot design makes assembly so easy a first grader can do it.  The kit comes mitered, grooved and ready to assemble.  Includes screws and instructions.   This three chamber kit can house an estimated 150 - 220 bats (depending on the species).

Now approved by Merlin Tuttle's Bat Conservation (MTBC).

Be sure to check out the "Videos from the Bat Cave" tab for product videos!

Kids love this kit - This is the kit we use in our workshops!

Tools needed: small power drill

Additional tools you may find helpful:  clamps or masking tape

Supplies needed:  paintable latex caulk, paper towels and water-based paint for exterior finish

We use high quality building materials:  exterior grade ACX plywood.  All interior surfaces have cut grooves giving bats a permanent gripping surface that will never come loose and entangle or injure the bats.  Kit comes with instructions, screws, a drill bit and a finishing guide.  Please note:  we no longer include the decorative bat.

The finishing guide covers choosing a paint color, as well as, where and how to install your bat house for the best chances of success.

Please note:  the kits no longer come with decorative bat.

Made in the USA using global materials by us in our BatShop!

Specifications:

     Dimensions:  H 28" x W 18" x 4.5 D "

Bat Capacity*:   about 150 to 220 (depending on the species)

Cubic Inches of Roosting Space: 660

*We attempt to be honest with our estimates allowing approx. 3 cubic inches for each bat. This includes an allowance for unused space since the bats will not pack the house top to bottom. Some species will crowd in very tightly, others will not.  Here's the math: "Cubic Inches of Roosting space / 3 Cubic Inches = estimate of capacity".

Why does it cost so much to ship?

Our bat houses are full size and certifiable.  They are not toys or small bird house style kits - this kit ships in a 29x17x4 box and ships at 15 lbs.

If you purchase more than one kit, the kits will be flat packed in as few boxes as possible and your shipping charges will be adjusted to compensate.  If you prefer to have each kit individually box, please let us know in the order comments.

    Well made bat house

Quality product. Easy to assemble. Hung it next to a garage louvered vent that they currently hang out in. Waiting for them to switch over to their new accommodations.

This kit is great. So we’ll built. Super easy to put together. Such a great value compared to pre built kits. AND it’s a fun project if you’re doing it with some kids. Very pleased. Now I just hope some bats agree and populate our house!

Affordable, attractive, well-built and easy to put together. Wish the little bat applique was still available but the carved bat at the bottom is cute.

    It works

Posted by WES BOLIN on 27th May 2021

I built the house last year and during the summer it attracted one bat. After a month or so, another bat moved in. The house has been through very hot summer days, low teens temperatures, snow, ice, wind and rain. I just counted 16 bats leaving the house this evening, so I am delighted. I followed the instructions of what color to paint it and how high to install it in the proper position to the sun. I'm a complete novice and just followed directions.

    Amazing Kit!

It was fun putting together the bat house! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the finished product looks great, if I do say so myself. Now I'm just eagerly hoping for bats to arrive soon!

    Bat house

Posted by DENIS , Newnan GA on 3rd Jan 2021

I just built my new 3 chamber bat house, so I can only review the house itself, not if it attracts bats. That's yet to be seen. The construction and assembly of the house is excellent. It goes together very easily. I'm pretty sure I overdid the silicone sealer (exterior, paintable), but no matter. If the bats like it as much as I do, then we're in business.

    Easy to Assemble, Great Instructions

Posted by Unknown on 13th Oct 2020

Really pleased with how easily I was able to put this kit together following the included instructions. Very thorough, all needed parts (including driver bit and screws) are included, so that all you have to provide is caulk and time.

The 3 chambered bat house was well designed and easy to assemble thanks to many pre-cut slots and accurate measurements. I watched the online video and it was straight forward.

    Awesome Kit - Awesome Help

Posted by Clayton Riehle on 31st Jul 2020

My Habitat for Bats kit was exactly as described and expected. Communication with the company was superb. Shipping was prompt. The kit went together very well. And the bats moved out of my attic and into the house immediately. I've had the house up several weeks and will do the exclusion this weekend. I am very satisfied.

Great quality - Easy to assemble

Posted by Anne Anderson on 19th Jul 2020

I ordered the three chamber Bat House Kit for my husband. He is very handy and had no trouble assembling it. He mounted it on a 20' pole, anchored in concrete and with bolts in the base, so he can lower it easily. It's only been up a few weeks and no bats yet, but hope they will soon.
