Tools needed: small power drill
Additional tools you may find helpful: clamps or masking tape
Supplies needed: paintable latex caulk, paper towels and water-based paint for exterior finish
We use high quality building materials: exterior grade ACX plywood. All interior surfaces have cut grooves giving bats a permanent gripping surface that will never come loose and entangle or injure the bats. Kit comes with instructions, screws, nails and a cut-out bat to decorate the front of the house.
The manual covers choosing a paint color, as well as, where and how to install your bat house for the best chances of success.
Made in the USA using global materials by us in our BatShop!

Specifications:
Dimensions: H 28" x W 18" x 4.5 D "
Weight: 13 lbs.
Bat Capacity*: about 150 to 220 (depending on the species)
Cubic Inches of Roosting Space: 660
*We attempt to be honest with our estimates allowing approx. 3 cubic inches for each bat. This includes an allowance for unused space since the bats will not pack the house top to bottom. Some species will crowd in very tightly, others will not. Here's the math: "Cubic Inches of Roosting space / 3 Cubic Inches = estimate of capacity".
Why does it cost so much to ship?
Our bat houses are full size and certifiable. They are not toys or small bird house style kits - this kit ships in a 29x17x4 box and ships at 15 lbs.
If you purchase more than one kit, the kits will be flat packed in as few boxes as possible and your shipping charges will be adjusted to compensate. If you prefer to have each kit individually box, please let us know in the order comments.

Awesome bat house ...this kit met all my expectations. No bats in my house yet but I';m confident there will be.

This bat house was very easy to assemble and well worth the money vs trying to build one myself. I used wood glue in addition to the screws that were provided. I stained the interior pieces and painted the outside the color that applied to my area of the country.
I mounted the bat house using 2 1/2" sch 80 pvc electrical pipe that I put inside a 3" plumbing pipe. I mounted the bat house 18 ft elevation and 25 ft away from any trees and facing east.
It's been 3 weeks but no bats yet but I will give it a year.

The bat house looks great and we think it will last a very long time. We appreciate the customer service from Habitat for Bats. We had a couple of questions and they helped.
In Ky we painted this e chamber bat house a medium charcoal color, added shingles. Used 2 X 4's and U-bolts to connect to the pole. We then put it up on a painted 21' pole, 2"ID. then set in concrete in a 4' hole. (4 men to lift it up.) 1st we put a piece of long 9" wide plywood in the hole so the pole would slide down easily as they lifted. Very heavy but was a great choice. Used a level to make sure straight up.
We are now just waiting to see some guano droppings at the bottom. It has been up up a week and is now May 2. Hope to see some soon to know we have residents. They way patience is needed. We certainly have plenty of mosquito food for them in our neighborhood.

I really appreciated the ease at which this could be put together, and having the screws and drill bit included in the package was appreciated. Instructions were very clear, as well as nice youtube videos for those needing visual learning. Can't wait for my new tenants!

My son and I enjoyed a nice afternoon assembling the bat house together. Instructions were clear and assembly was a breeze.
We wall mounted to brick and added a couple of mounting points on the bottom, just in case.
We're looking forward to some tenants moving in!
